What is Run 4 U and Perform’s philosophy and why is it important that we all get involved?

My vision is that when you run for yourselves and only yourselves, consequently, you will undoubtedly perform.

To begin to explain this I found the definition from the dictionary on what ‘perform’ means:

Verb 1. carry out, accomplish, or fulfil (an action, task, or function).

When we begin on a journey or take steps towards a running goal on our first training run, we are ‘carrying out’ what we have in our minds or written down. Whether that training run is your first ever run, a new type of training session or even with a focus of a new ‘running style’ or ‘postural cue’ you are implementing a task that has been prescribed.

This journey or new running goal you are working towards is because you have something within you that you are aiming to achieve. Not many of us have these goals, but we all can! It does not have to be to win a race, it might not even involve races. It could simply be to ‘Run to improve your lifestyle’. ‘Run to show your kids you have strength, you have aims’. ‘Run to be free or to unwind from busy days’. I think it is vitally important you are running for you or your life factors that are incredibly important.

When you do this, you will ‘accomplish’ all that you ever set out to do when you run. You accomplish each time you get back from that run and you have carried out what you said you were going to do. You ran for 20 minutes without stopping, you forgot about your daily work stresses, you demonstrated just what it takes to motivate yourself and achieve your aims. You ran for you.

Actually, all of this gives an awesome amount of fulfillment. My first bit of advice would be to find your goal or your purpose, find a reason you want to run for you. Once you have this, we can map out your journey, your personalised plan to fulfilling your goals. By setting out on this road you have ‘Run 4 U and Perform’ed’.
