I started running late in life in 2018 and progressed 10km to HM to London Marathon. Never on enough miles and never with any structure to my training as I was doing runs for charity and I confess I never felt a love for training nor did I even think myself a runner despite having done the London marathon (virtual and real).

In 2022 I started running more often in the week, my miles and performance went up and I also got my first injury.

Start of 2023 and I discovered there was a running coach in my village (Abbey van Dijk) and signed up for 3 month plan. 3 weeks in I am blown away. The plans are meticulously set out and explained in accessible language. The back up resources are fabulous including loads of YouTube videos. I am doing things I never knew existed as training exercises .

Abbey is an excellent communicator and responds clearly and with patience to my dumb questions on so many things that are new. Despite being in the same village because of my schedule everything has been online . Already I feel the benefits of structure, I can see how the plan develops . It’s all scheduled in an app for me which makes it easy to work it into my week. The feedback is also constructive and supportive. Whether I see results in times or not ( I am sure I will) after 3 weeks I already feel like a winner .
